Heheh sorry Lee Kuan, but I'm putting up a really lame post in response to yours. :P
I'm like, WTF, I'm supposed to be doing my bleeding ESL investigation, but meh, I'm gonna just blog around! I'll just post about clams and other bivalves and what not!
Scallops aren't 'lala'...
Scallops are the things that have shells the shape of you know, Shell's (petrol company) logo. A little bumpy shape where the two shells connect, then large triangular shells covered in smooth waves of 'crests and troughs' throughout, with the curvy ridges at the opening ends of the shells. Ah, just thought about it...The things that make up Ariel, the Little Mermaid's bra. At least, I think. Just had to mention that bit of Disney-produced obscenity for the sake of explaining. But it sure as hell gave you a better picture than the long-winded description eh?
Lala are clams, and soft-shell clams I would wager, seeing that their shells are broken so easily. Clams are generally shaped like a perfect oval, kinda look like mussels, but mussels have sorta rough ugleeh shells which are REALLY long-ish in shape, both of which are connected at a point which isn't directly in the the center, but really off to one side. Kinda like oysters in the sense that some mussels have got really gross looking rough-ass shells that look like something your car ran over that got stuck on the wheels after driving up to Bangkok and back. Mmmm yum yum oysters. *Craaaaves oysters*
Oh and another thing, I donno, but I really dislike the taste of lalas, they have a really bad smell? Taste? I donno. Just that funny thing going on when you eat it. Or maybe it's coz the seafood here's über polluted and filled with toxic crap. But scallops (Scallop meat is kinda like a thick perfect cylinder, whereas lala meat looks like. Some sorta punctured eyeball left to dry out or something? Well, sorry for the bad description la. But you know. Lalas give you way less meat per animal than scallops. And WTH, the Ausmat cafe sells basically lala SHELLS as dishes because I've never seen a single lala in those dishes that had some meat still in it, they all got washed off somewhere in the curry-making process. You could just end up paying to have a lala shell collection in your room I guess.) AAANYYYWAYYY!!!! MY ORIGINAL SENTENCE WAS..."But scallops taste way better than lala. Hella good compared to them in fact.". Fugh geez, got distracted and all I wanted to say was that.
OH OH! And another thing. La La might not be an anime or manga, but it's sorta like, I donno, a slang people back in my school used to...well, use. Oh and it's also that shitty song by Ashlee Simpson, but wtv. Generally "Lala"s are the Ah Bengs and Ah Lians, you know:
* Super straightened hair, also dyed to a bright blinding awful shade of orange or blonde that totally doesn't match their eyebrows and makes their eyebrows "ZING" right outta their face like some living specimen from the X-Files.
* Own shit-ass cars that aren't even worth the super-huge useless exhaust pipes they modify onto them.
* Play music at SUPER ULTRA MEGA**** VOLUMES with the windows down, and not just any music, shitty monotonous over-bass-boosted "makes-you-wanna-scream-and-concuss-yourself-on-the-steering-wheel- when-you're-stuck-in-a-3-hour-effing-jam-beside-them" music.
* Can be found sometimes wearing contact lenses with colours so out of whack they look like they just popped out of a Hitchcock flick (ok just imagine they're in colour).
* Wear fake eyelashes that look so freakishly fake they look like the remnant of some bombed up Taliban-guy's beard, pasted together and glued on.
* Wear a crapload of shiny bling-bling (mostly the guys), ultimately having more metal on their bodies than the total weight of their brains.
* Bottom line is: Fake. Everything's fake, fake, fake. And not the pretty fake. Fugly fake.
Aaaannnd Jasmine can't believe that of all the things she's ever blogged about, one of them was clams and seafood galore. Must be from all the years of being stuffed full of seafood by the parents. Just couldn't let the scallops suffer the indignity of being mistaken as lalas.

waaa~ u explain damn good bout scallop lee kuan.haha did i spell ur name correctly??? hahaa... all this while i was wondering what is scallop... rupe-rupenya it's lala....haisyh~ it has such an international name but in malaysia, only called as lala...
god~ u guys know wut, the ISAT test thingy was damn hard. i just wish everyone in this world did as badly as we did. hahha. there's 100 question that should be answered in 3 hrs time. yeah it seems long but hell nothing was easy. but i dunno for chi hau cuz he's like extremely smart. haha...
it like a combination of physic, maths and critical thinking all together... crap~ i dunno whether i could pass it or not. huh~
n im longing to go back home. it's been a month since i went back home despite im staying in cheras which was only 45 minutes from shah alam. i'm impressed with myself how i could stand living in this prison. i need my social life back n shopping too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wawawa...
i dont care, im going back home on friday! n do some good movie marathon!!!!

Something funny happened today.
During Puan Haz's class all of us were asked to look through newspapers to search for ah!"meaningful words you can use in your ielts speaking".
So, poor me who doesn't have the Star Special paper have to share the star special paper with Laura.
And so we were actually
1) having fun drawing scribblings on the newspaper, you know, drawing circles around an unfortunate model's eyes
2)indulging in various dreams of delicious food
And then when it came to food...
Laura declared " I Love Scallops"
And i'm like yaya! I love lala too!!!
Then
everything went quiet.
Me: (puzzled)
Mei Ing: (stare)
Laura: (stare)
Laura: Erm..lala?never heard of that..
Mei Ing: Yaya!!what's lala? some kind of manga?????
I have noticed the blur looks i got when i mentioned manga. Manga is in fact japanese comic and as for anime...fine, i am sure you guys know it already through Pn Haz's class today.
Yes, the moment mei ing said lala = unknown manga
i can't hold it anymore.
yes, i am a person who have had many years of practice in the art of halting the desire to laugh like hell, especially in class.
However,
today i failed.
both of them have no idea what i was laughing about.
The thing is
lala is some sort like a mini scallop.
Scallop - a shellfish that can be eaten with two flat round shell that fit together

it's a scallop, not some kind of manga
And i wouldn't even want to read a manga with the title "LALA"
So cheesy.
And there i was, laughing the hell out of me.
By the way, scallop is apparently only called 'lala' by certain people in peninsular Malaysia. When i asked my roommate, she has no problem identifying scallop as lala.
That means,
1. the word 'lala' may be only known to Teluk Intan people (since my roommate is from the same place as i do)
2. the word 'lala' may be only known to chinese of peninsular Malaysia
gee....i totally have no idea that sometimes what i know may not be understood by other people.
Ah and to think that FOOD unites humans.
EDIT: There's a manga magazine named lala that i would like to make an exception for. This magazine is particular as it has my favourites : namely Ouran High School Club and Vampire Knight..

Sightings of lazy cats sleeping on the garden's tables or chairs are quite common in the afternoon.. =) Actually there's 2 cats but i only took a picture of 1 of them..

To those who you who think that i am going to study...you clearly don't know me well...
In case you guys don't know, the internet connection in Akasia is the best when
1)Everyone go to school so nobody uses the internet, thus you get better connection..blah blah blah..
2)In my apartment, the best place to use the internet, is ironically in, the kitchen. You know, the place where everyone washes their clothes...yup, during the evening or whenever we are free, you can see Laura or I or my other housemate and roommate cramming into that tiny room with our laptops.
3)Can download the latest episode of D Gray Man!Yay!(but right now..i am unable to do so..intenet too slow....)
Guess i will end my rant here. Will post more if i have more to talk about. Right now i am too busy to search for "Pet Shop of Horrors" manga.
